March 1980
Establishment of Unit T380 under the Technical Department of Military Region 5
Following the complete liberation of Vietnam through the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign on April 30, 1975, the country continued to face complex internal challenges. Hostile forces remained active, and the Southwest Border War soon broke out — requiring Vietnam to once again confront armed conflict. In response to these defense imperatives, the Command of Military Region 5 established Unit T380 under the Technical Department of Military Region 5 in March 1980. Its original mission was civil construction and the installation of machinery and equipment provided by the Soviet Union.

Following the end of the Southwest Border War, military units across Vietnam transitioned toward economic production activities in line with the country's new development direction.
Around this period, the General Repair Workshop T380 was restructured into Enterprise 380, operating under Hai Van Company of Military Region 5.
